Oscar Contreras of SoCalGas, will be joining us this month to share SoCalGas' Hydrogen Home Demonstration Project.
The Hydrogen Home showcases how hydrogen can be integrated for use along side renewables for decarbonization of buildings and homes.
Hydrogen while still new and undeveloped, has received abundant private and public backing in California and more specifically, in Los Angeles. in the past few years, Angelenos seen a plan for the Angeles Link take root, the birth of the Western Green Energy Hydrogen Initiative, as well as Hybuild LA and Hybuild North America. SoCalGas has positioned itself at the center of this new initiative. In addition to the hydrogen home demonstration, this year alone SoCalGas announced, a partnership with Kore infrastructure, testing a modular waste-to-energy carbon-negative renewable hydrogen and renewable natural gas system; A collaboration with the University of California, Irvine, utilizing existing natural gas infrastructure to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions in operations and energy delivery by 2045 and; SoCalGas has also partnered with Doosan Mobility in a demonstration of hydrogen fuel cell-powered drones.
Oscar will not be solving all our problems or speaking to the unknowns, rather he will be sharing a new initiative that we as land professionals can use to fuel future conversations and also provide solutions to colleagues, politicians, clients etc...

OSCAR CONTRERAS, SOCALGAS
Oscar Contreras, Project Manager in Southern California Gas Company’s Business Development, will present Southern California Gas Company’s use of hydrogen as part of its sustainable energy portfolio. Southern California Gas Company has been known for many years as "the Gas Company." The Gas Company was recently honored with the top "Business Transformation Award" at the 2022 Responsible Business Awards, hosted by Rueter Events. Among a field of major global companies, the Gas Company was identified as a leader in sustainable business priorities. Oscar has been with the Gas Company nearly eight years. He is Project Manager with the Clean Energy Innovation and is currently overseeing the "[H2] Innovation Experience" Project.
